A few weeks (couple of months?) ago I returned to Antwerpen to attend the FAUST ballet show and what it comes out of that weekend was such an inspiring mix of emotions.
I have to admit I’ve always felt a bit in love with this city since I went there for the first time with my family years ago, back in the days when I was a teenager and would never imagined one day I would ended up – happily – living in Belgium (and loved it!).
Anyway, back to business. I love this city, dark and romantic, cold and inspiring, vibrating and quiet. Oh, and yes, Jews and diamonds, which i both love (and no, this sentence isn’t racist at all, you’ll get that one day).
Antwerp/Antpwerpen/Anvers is a city I love – where I though I’ve found something special – and also a city you maybe all know because of fashion, art and diamonds, but like other cities in Belgium, it ain’t easy to understand, and love – like some people.
This year I promise to myself one thing: prioritise myself, do what I love, and travel, and do it more.
My journey started – I believe, and maybe metaphorically – from Antwerp.
There’s a lot more I have to discover there – and in Belgium, in general – but that weekend was both overwhelming and beautiful, even if a bit stressful.
Was a very short trip, very short. But I hope you all enjoyed this few pictures (and IG stories) I’ve posted here and all over my – shadownabbed – Instagram (@vittoriamarchegiani).
I’ll post more the next time I’ll be there. Very soon I hope.
All pics taken with a very old iPhone5 and edited with VSCOCam.
