I have this thing for design, art and stuff. I don’t know what this is, I just love art in all – or almost all – its forms I just can’t help it and oh lord, growing up I’ve learned how the smallest piece of furniture can be the greatest piece of art. A chair, a couch, a mirror, whatever, they can all be beautiful and dreamy as a painting or a picture, believe me.
I once met a guy who had a thing with chairs, he didn’t know and will never know I had the same thing, but i mean, aren’t chair beautiful? He was right, chairs are beautiful – at least he was right with something.
I am not an expert, I have to admit. I am not one of those ladies or gentlemen who can have a look at a piece of furniture for 5 seconds and tell in another 5 seconds where that piece was designed, built up and which artistic movement influenced the designer in his creative process. But I do love interior design, I do love stuff in general – oh how venial I am, i am guilty, sir! – and I’m not ashamed of it! *gnè*
By the way, as told you already so many times (i am not in therapy, believe me – maybe I should, who knows) but one of the things I started to do this year as part of my journey to do-all-the-shit-that-you-love-and-please-do-it-whenever-you-can-or-cannot, I bought myself tickets for the Brussels Design Market, where I wanted to go also this year but couldn’t attend because too busy with my job and my second post grad 8yes, I am also a bit of a nerd but that’s a whole different story).
As you might have spoiled I said “to myself”, and yes, I went there by myself, cause doing stuff by myself is something I love, and I am not afraid of, even though most of the people I knew can only do stuff with other people – losers! – or do stuff they don’t like just because a bunch of other people will do it – losers!. Yes, I am judging you! (that’s a lie, I never judge. Almost. Never).
To sum up, I love design, I love vintage design, I love stuff, I enjoy doing stuff by myself, I love spending time with the people I love the most 8basically, myself again) and here we go: the Brussels Design Market.
I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of the location itself (which is great, but the neighbourhood is quite saaaad and lonely and it’s one of the – thank lord – very few places in brussels where i don’t feel myself completely secure), but Tour et Taxis is a great venue for fairs, expos and other event and every time I went there everything was quite well organised, and so it was for this evet – which I discovered is going to have another ed at the end of September and I already cannot wait to go there!
Finally, I’ll leave you here with some picture – mostly some that you might have already seen on my insta.
I’ll dedicate another brand new post to the stuff I bought their cause ooooh yes I couldn’t leave that place without emptying my wallet – and enrich my heart and tiny apartment.
Hope you’ll love this – I particularly care about furnit… ehm, this post.
